A lot of people come to Philadelphia and do not know where to start. We have a lot of things to see. What I like to do is start in Old City and walk past many of the highlights (things like Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, Washington Square). We won’t spend much time in any of them, but I know where you can grab a couple of good photos. Afterwards we’ll walk through center city and see some South Street highlights (Isaiah Zagar's Magic Gardens). We will likely end at the Reading Terminal Market, where I can recommend a few places for you to grab lunch on your own(Hershel's East Side Deli or Dim Sum Garden in nearby Chinatown). Philadelphia has an excellent mural scene (shhh there is a self walking tour of that), but while we are walking I'll show you some favorites. Before I leave, I can give you plenty of recommendations on where to eat, explore, and drink in this town. Lucky for you, I've done a lot of all 3 since I moved here. This tour is a bit over 3 miles.
My name is Josh Ferris. I moved to Philadelphia in 2006. I love the city of Brotherly Love (and Sisterly Affection) very much. My husband, my cat, and I live in a neighborhood called Olde Kensington, which is near Fishtown. Philadelphia is always changing, so sharing the city with others is a great way to for me to learn new things.
